Positions Available at Edison Wetlands Association for Fall 2011 and Winter 2012:

Toxics Program Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Program work, outreach, research and administrative duties related to the organization’s toxics and environmental justice programs.  Some possible work in the field or at the Triple C Ranch.  For course credits and volunteer work only.


Stormwater  Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Program work, outreach, research and administrative duties related to the organization’s stormwater program.  Some possible work in the field.  For course credits and volunteer work only.


Conservation Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Program work, outreach, research and administrative duties related to the organization’s wildlife conservation and land preservation programs.  Some possible work in the field or at the Triple C Ranch.  For course credits and volunteer work only.


Triple C Ranch Intern
Weekend and weekday hours, 8-20 hrs/week
Responsibilities: Animal care, ecotours & public outreach, conservation work, and general maintenance at the Triple C Ranch, the last working farm in Edison, New Jersey. Some physical labor required.  Must be comfortable working with farm animals. Relevant experience is helpful but not required.  For course credits and volunteer work only.


Multimedia Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Qualified candidates needed to help nonprofit organization develop its multimedia program, including expanding our websites and blogs to incorporate videos (http://WildNewJersey.tv; http://NewGreenMedia.tv), social networking and social media, podcasts, video production and interactive content.  Relevant experience is highly recommended.
*Qualified Multimedia Intern candidates may be eligible for stipend pay.


Social Media Development Intern

approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Qualified candidates needed to help nonprofit organization develop its social media outreach, by expanding our audiences, messages, and participation opportunities through social networking and social media.  Creativity and innovative thinking is a plus, along with a capable understanding of basic social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.


Communications/ Journalism Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Writing articles, press releases, and website copy related to the organization’s public and media outreach program.  Good writing skills a must.  For course credits and volunteer work only.


Marketing/ Publishing Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Research and assistance on marketing campaign for forthcoming nature book to be published in 2011.  Related courses in marketing and publishing recommended.  For course credits and volunteer work only.


Sales Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Promotional outreach and assistance for Re-Purpose New Jersey, an innovative new recycling sustainability pioneer that recycles clothing shoes, and other textiles for municipalities, businesses and universities at no cost.  Related courses in marketing and sales recommended.  For course credits and volunteer work only.


Political Affairs Intern
approx. 8-20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Correspondence, research and advocacy for promoting environmental policies and initiatives in New Jersey.  For course credits and volunteer work only.
