Edison Wetlands Association launched our Environmental Justice Program in 2002, due to the overwhelming demand for assistance for communities in New Jersey.
Environmental justice issues are largely ignored in many communities in New Jersey. EWA works in communities that are negatively impacted to restore and preserve land. We have over 20 years of experience with community organizing and empowering residents to improve their health and better their environment.
Because of our many successful communities, EWA is frequently contacted to provide assistance to community groups in underprivileged urban areas—at no cost to the communities. Our CARP program has empowered several communities by providing them with the tools they needed to effectively advocate for a better environment throughout New Jersey.
